I was desperate for solutions
“I was desperate when I enlisted Kelly’s help. My 8-month-old was consistently rejecting all forms of food – mashed, pureed, cooked (baby-lead weaning, style), in a low weight percentile and kiddos in her daycare class of a similar age were eating solids well. Without missing a beat, Kelly quickly jumped in with a professional analysis and clear steps to help my daughter and me. Her compassionate approach put me at ease and made me feel like I had a solid path forward. We reviewed common causes for avoiding solids, safety information and ideas on how to encourage my daughter to eat more. Within a few weeks, I had discovered that my daughter loves tart tastes, particularly limes and yogurt. Today, my daughter is almost two today and feeds herself a variety of foods. Her favorite food remains yogurt.”

Challenges with food textures
“My son started having difficulty eating when he was around 9 months old. He refused any type of food that wasn’t untextured baby food as it made him vomit. After testing to check for any physical reasons for this issue, his doctor suggested feeding therapy. Enter Ms. Kelly. She used many different methods to encourage him to not be afraid of having textures in his mouth. She let him eat whatever he wanted during therapy (awful combinations like apples dipped in ketchup!) and let him play with food (he left therapy one day covered in chocolate pudding!) to alleviate his fears of food and increase his interest in eating. By the time he turned 3, he had been discharged from therapy and was eating like every other child. She was always patient, kind and flexible. He doesn’t remember those days, but every time I see him eat apples dipped in ketchup (yes, he still does to this day) I am eternally thankful for Ms. Kelly. I can’t say enough about how amazing Kelly is and would highly recommend her.”

Post-surgery G-tube
“Our daughter went through two major surgeries and ended up losing her ability to suck on a bottle. After spending months in the hospital, she was discharged with a g-tube as she didn’t have much urge to eat by mouth, but there was still so much hope. Kelly was the speech therapist that came to our home several times a month to help with teaching our baby how to eat. The way Kelly watched, listened, and cared for my child through this process made all the difference. Every child is different and I found it absolutely amazing at the knowledge and skill Kelly had when teaching not only our baby but me as well all the things there is to know about “eating.” She’s a life saver! Her intelligence with speech therapy is remarkable! She is hands down the BEST there is. I will forever be grateful for the time she spent with our family.”

Kelly took away the fear
“With Kelly’s ability to communicate, she was able to help our toddler eat more foods a safe manner. Our daughter choked so much before we met Kelly that we had become afraid. We gained confidence from her patient, caring way of teaching. Parenting out of fear does not work and Kelly took that fear away and we benefited, but more importantly our daughter blossomed into a happier, calmer, less stressed toddler. Mealtimes were enjoyable and not a battle. We feel truly blessed that Kelly was our child’s speech and feeding therapist. I would highly recommend her, and in fact, she worked with our second child with equally positive results.”

Communication, collaboration and care
“Kelly is an extraordinary speech-language pathologist. She goes above and beyond to establish strong relationships with her patients and families. She collaborates with everyone involved in order to provide the best care possible. Kelly always advocates for her patients, while making sure families feel supported in the process. Her knowledge, resourcefulness, and creativity allow her to make great gains with her patients. My family highly recommends Kelly to anyone looking for a personable, caring, and incredible speech-language pathologist.”

Experience, knowledge, understanding and guidance
“Kelly’s knowledge, experience and understanding are some things that stand out the most to me of her many amazing qualities. Her guidance through my son’s therapy is part of the reason he is the happy and healthy boy he is today. We continue to use the information she gave us to this day to help him grow.”
